Workshop on Assessing Museum Objects Using the Significance 2.0 Methodology Held in the Philippines

The Ayala Museum, Philippines, hosted a two-day workshop on November 5th and 6th, 2024, as part of the SEA–Collections Project. The workshop brought together eight participants, including curators, educators, conservators from the museum to explore the Significance 2.0 methodology for assessing the values of cultural objects.

The Brunei Darussalam Maritime Museum hosted a two-day workshop on August 8th and 9th, 2024, as part of the SEA–Collections Project. The workshop was attended by twenty (20) curators, museum managers, educators, conservators, researchers, and registrars from the Maritime Museum, as well as museums across Brunei.

The Marine Heritage Gallery (MHG) in Jakarta hosted a two-day workshop on August 8th and 9th, 2024, as part of the SEA–Collections Project. The workshop was attended by nineteen (19) curators, museum managers, educators and registrars from the MHG and was facilitated by experts from the University of Sydney and Southeast Asia Museum Services (SEAMS).

The National Maritime Museum of Thailand in Chanthaburi hosted a workshop from July 11-12, 2024, focusing on the Significance 2.0 methodology for assessing museum objects. This workshop, part of the SEA-Collections Project, brought together museum professionals from various institutions to enhance their skills in object assessment and digital exhibition planning.

SEA-Collections Project Partners with SEAMS on a Cultural Heritage Initiative

The SEA-Collections Project, led by the Sydney Southeast Asia Centre (SSEAC) at the University of Sydney, has recently been supported by the Australia-ASEAN Council. Partnering with Southeast Asia Museum Services (SEAMS), the project will enhance the way museums across ASEAN countries and Australia share their maritime histories.
